Check out this amazing site on Team Rwanda, sponsored by Tom Ritchey of Ritchey Designs. Tom was one of the original (clunker) Mountain Bikers in California back in the 70's. His designs were instrumental in the final product.
There are rumors that they will ride the Tour De France. Will they survive the grueling Pyrenees mountains, with the unpredictable weather?

Check out the wooden bikes they make to get their coffee to market. They ride these primarily downhill from the mountains to the markets. The Rwandans invented these themselves, some even have suspension!!!
Rwanda is still recovering from the 1994 genocide. Some of these guys are orphaned survivors.
Imagine your town being attacked by another town. Thousands wielding machetes and clubs in the middle of the night.
Recently the attackers were all pardoned by the government, so there is still a lot of hatred.
Bikes are needed there, as they can get three times the price if the beans are delivered fresh.
What beautiful country also!
