Thank God, after last night's struggling training ride I slept great, having digested all the horrible Hometown Buffet food. Waking up feeling motivated and normal is not easy in winter, my body goes through peaks and valleys.
Not a cloud in the sky today. Once again, I sunbathed at Filley Park against the ancient farmhouse. This is the ultimate bike hang- out for now.
It's amazing, last time I sat there, there was a foot of snow. Today, there was grass. It's still mid february. It was so wonderfully warm in this spot, it was almost as good as the beach. I don't have a sunburn, but it feels like I have definitely absorbed some energy.
Two old ladies drove in and asked if they could go in the house, but it's still under renovation, and it looks like it's gonna take a long time, probably lack of funds. The house is owned by the Historical Society . The land surrounding it is really beautiful old farmland, slowly turning back to woods.
Nothing really to talk about other than it was a beautiful day, I rode well, didn't suffer too badly, as it was 40 degrees.
A Moe's Burrito is quite possibly the perfect ride-food. Inhale some chips and a burrito and you can wail for hours, no powerbars needed.
I only ate half of it, and eating the other half when I got back home was fabulous, as I was pleasantly tired, with cold feet.
