I think we had 15" or so last night from midnight to 8 AM. I love snowstorms at night. The air is so amazingly fresh afterwards.
Reunited with the ancient Trek 930, with tires deflated to to about 35. Just an amazing slow paced leg stretcher. No hurries, but already logged maybe 6 miles, just pooping around.
I have come to the conclusion that you don't need studded tires in most city conditions. As long as the bike rides with stability, you're ok.
Found a 70's Raleigh ladies cruiser buried deep in a snowbank. Towed it home. Made In Nottingham!!!! Has way cool double kickstand on bottom bracket.
Bike is pretty toasted but she'll run. Single speed.
Lost my Thermos. Dammit, it slipped out of my Messenger bag somehow. Not in the mood to retrace the route looking for it.
Offer: ROAD SWAG- Nissan Thermos with handle. The only travel mug that doesn't leak, and it has a vaccuum top with simple unscrew lid. I have tried them all.
Will keep any liquid hot for a whole day. Indestructible.
Only 39.99 at Brookstone.
This is the second one l've lost in 10 years.
Dammit.
